Privacy Policy

RakanQuran (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is developed by Nusantara Software. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the RakanQuran mobile application.
Summary
RakanQuran is designed to work on your device. You can use the app without an account. We do not sell your personal data. All bookmarks, settings, and reading preferences are stored locally on your phone or tablet unless we introduce optional accounts in a future update.
Using the app without an account
No sign-up is required. The app saves the following on your phone or tablet:
- Bookmarks (page numbers you save)
- Daily reading goal (if you enable it)
- Reading reminder settings (time and frequency)
- Tajweed display preferences
- Mushaf theme / skin choices
- Premium skin unlock status
This data stays on your device unless you uninstall the app or clear app storage. We do not currently operate a server that stores your bookmarks or reading activity.
Accounts (coming later)
We may offer optional accounts in a future version so you can sign in and sync bookmarks across your devices. Accounts are not available in the app today. When we launch this feature, we will update this policy and describe what data is stored and how you can delete it.
Notifications
If you enable reading reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. You can turn reminders off at any time in Settings. Notification permission is requested only when you choose to use this feature.
Payments (optional)
You may optionally unlock premium mushaf themes through a one-time payment. Before checkout, the App may ask for your name and email address. We send this information to our payment API and third-party payment provider (we may change providers over time) so they can process your order. We do not store your card or banking information in the App. Payment card and banking details are handled by the provider according to their own privacy policy.
Your name and email may be kept on your device for convenience if you unlock again later. You can clear app storage to remove this.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data
- No advertising or ad tracking in the app
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the app
- We do not upload your Quran reading history or bookmarks to our servers today
Third-party services
- Payment processor — secure checkout for optional premium themes (provider may vary)
- Google Play — app distribution and, if applicable, standard platform services provided by Google
Children’s privacy
RakanQuran is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require registration.
Data retention and deletion
Data stored locally is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage in your device settings. Payment records, if any, are retained by the payment provider according to their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time, including when we launch accounts or change payment providers. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
